Software

BRGM has developed a range of software for geoscience applications, now used in 65 countries.

Griffon ou source latérale de la Fontaine de Vaucluse
Software
HYPE: a tool for characterising and evaluating trends in the temporal evolution of groundwater quality
The HYPE tool allows the statistical study of chronicles of evolution of groundwater quality. HYPE draws on several years of studies on the applicability of statistical methods to the study of groundwater quality and tests on theoretical and real data. It thus integrates the most powerful and robust statistical methods in this specific field.
Taking samples of river water, French Guiana
Software
HYPST-R: simulation of uncertainties to assess the chemical condition of groundwater bodies
The HYPST-R tool was developed in support of a study aiming to provide information for groundwater resource managers about the uncertainties relating to estimators of the chemical condition of the groundwater bodies they calculate.
Acid drainage, Romania
Software
HYRISK: software for handling random and epistemic uncertainties
When confronted with epistemic uncertainty, “conventional” probability theory tools frequently appear too restrictive. Other, more flexible representation tools can then be put forward. The HYRISK package propagates and uses random and epistemic uncertainties together.
The Jonquilles River, Corrèze
Software
MARTHE: Modelling software for groundwater flows
MARTHE has been developed by the BRGM for 3D modelling of flows and mass and energy transfers in hydro-systems. Modelling includes aquifers, rivers and vadose zones.
Tools and tutorials for sampling and analysis operations
Software
MISP: a tool for estimating the impact of pollution on groundwater
MISP is an analytical model that calculates the impact on groundwater of a pollution source above the water table.
Example of a borehole in Issoudun
Software
OUAIP: computer-assisted pumping tests interpretation
OUAIP is a software dedicated to the interpretation and simulation of pumping tests in hydrogeology (well tests, groundwater tests).
ARK project: new water resources in Provence
Software
TIGRE, for easy calculation of the influence of a well field on a homogeneous aquifer
TIGRE, developed by the BRGM, calculates changes over time in the piezometric levels due to pumping from and/or injection into a homogeneous aquifer.
The Sarthe river at Saint Cénéri
Software
TRAC: computer-assisted tracer-test interpretation for porous environments
TRAC is an application designed to interpret and represent hydrogeological tracer test results (graph plots).
Quarry of the Galion, near Cayenne in French Guiana
Software
USIM PAC: process simulation and optimization software
USIM PAC is a process modelling and simulation software for the design, the monitoring, and the optimization of industrial processes.
A karstic spring, Pahalgam
Software
XLKarst: an Excel application for the hydrodynamic characterisation of karst systems
XLKarst rapidly implements various methods classically used in karst hydrology for the hydrodynamic characterisation of karst systems.
BRGM managed the drilling of the Cinergy borehole from July to September 2010 in Chartres-de-Bretagne
Software
ZAPPEL: plotting the isochrones and catchment area of a water well
Zappel is a tool that plots the catchment area and the position of the isochrones of a borehole under the effect of pumping.
