In particular, water tables benefited from heavy rainfall in autumn, winter and early spring (15 to 20% more than a normal winter). We are now moving towards the end of this recharge period with the gradual regrowth of vegetation.

Geoscience for the preservation of groundwater resources

Since its creation, BRGM has been conducting a public service mission on behalf of the French Government to monitor  the availability of groundwater. It offers its technical and scientific expertise to the organisations responsible for water management (water agencies, utilities and local authorities) and proposes innovative solutions for assessing and monitoring the quality of this resource.

BRGM's specialised know-how in the field of Earth sciences, based on dynamic research and a partnership approach, are now internationally recognised.
