BRGM and the AVENIA cluster invite you to a new one-day creativity event.

The new edition of TInnov will take place on Wednesday 8 June 2022, at Lab'O Village, 1 Avenue du Champ de Mars in Orléans.

It will be preceded by a visit to BRGM's scientific and technical platforms on the afternoon of Tuesday 7 June 2022 at BRGM, 3 avenue Claude Guillemin, 45100 Orléans La Source.

What is TInnov?

TInnov is a convivial day under the banner of inventiveness, punctuated by collective discussion workshops and pitches. You will be challenged to stimulate your creativity in conceiving services to meet future geoscience challenges.

The mixed teams, made up of representatives of companies of all sizes, local authorities, associations or research bodies, will be challenged throughout the day and the best concepts may be developed with support from BRGM, Avenia and their partners!

The watchwords for this event are conviviality, inventiveness and challenge!

Jointly building innovative concepts

Think up new geoscience product and service concepts that can be developed in partnership, with support from BRGM.

Developing a creative challenge

Explore an exciting topic as a member of a mixed team of representatives of companies of all sizes, communities, associations and researchers.

Meetings with various stakeholders

Become more competitive by identifying new avenues for collaboration and boost your network through discussions with potential partners.

If you would like to take part in the TInnov adventure, register now, there are still a few places left!

On the agenda for 2022: ensuring responsible mineral resources for resilient and sustainable industries

Recent crises have highlighted the extent to which many industries depend on their mineral ore supply lines, which can affect their production activities.

Furthermore, by outsourcing our supply lines, we often transfer the impact of our metal- and material-intensive lifestyles elsewhere on the planet.

Rethinking the exploitation of mineral resources requires taking into account their geological availability and geopolitical constraints, but also integrating the environmental and social responsibility associated with supply issues, which is already being undertaken by many companies that produce or use metals and materials.

Innovating with respect to mineral resources is therefore a major challenge for the resilience of industrial activities and their adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Re-thinking responsible procurement together by inventing innovative tools and services!

Discover this edition’s creative challenges!

During the day, participants will be challenged to innovate with respect to mineral resources:

  • How can we reinvent and optimise the extraction of mineral resources?
  • What solutions can we find for circular use of mineral resources?
  • How can the environmental, social and local impact of mineral resource exploitation be better taken into account?
  • How can we promote the rational consumption of minerals?
  • What solutions could emerge from co-innovation between the mining industry and the manufacturing or construction industries?
  • To what extent do mineral resources tend to accelerate innovation?
  • What governance strategy should we devise for sustainable and responsible mining?

Plat’Inn: an experimental pilot facility for the treatment of mineral raw materials, waste and industrial by-products

Plat'Inn targets mineral resource processing and waste recycling. The platform provides a link between laboratory research and industrial-scale production and can process from a few dozen kilos to several tonnes.

The platform is divided into workshops:

  • Material fragmentation and sampling;
  • Mineral processing;
  • Thermal treatment;
  • Hydrometallurgy;
  • Experimental separation through wet and dry processes.

PRIME: an innovative test laboratory for soil and water decontamination

PRIME caters to practical needs and issues linked to the monitoring and decontamination of water, soil and the subsurface. PRIME acts as an intermediate link between laboratories and contaminated sites, and develops and qualifies:

  • sensors, samplers, etc., to identify and quantify pollution in the soil, subsurface and groundwater;
  • models, to predict the potential impact of a given type of contamination on the environment, in the short and medium term, etc.;
  • innovative and environmentally-friendly remediation methods and processes.

MIMAROC: a unique new experimental platform dedicated to in-situ testing of coupled physical processes

MIMAROC is a unique experimental platform dedicated to in-situ testing of coupled physical processes by means of microtomography. In particular, it is used to:

  • characterise the evolution and use of soils and the subsurface;
  • study solids or fluids subjected to complex loading in a controlled environment;
  • model coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical and chemical processes (THMC) in the geosciences.

The visit of the platforms is now complete. We thank you for your interest in this event.
