The EGU General Assembly 2021 – which is traditionally held each spring in Vienna, Austria – will take place entirely online this year.

vEGU21: Gather Online (#vEGU21)

This virtual event will be an entirely different experience from last year's meeting, Sharing Geoscience Online. vEGU21 will provide a much more comprehensive representation of the experience EGU members enjoy at the annual meeting in Vienna.

vEGU21, which will be accessible from around the world, will include the 2020 and 2021 awards ceremonies and conferences, mentoring, networking events and many other activities, in addition to nearly 700 scientific sessions.

The EGU, Europe's premier geosciences union

The European Geosciences Union (EGU) is Europe's premier geosciences union, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the Earth, planetary, and space sciences for the benefit of humanity, worldwide.

The EGU aims to provide a forum for scientists, especially researchers starting their careers, to present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in every field of the geosciences.

Each year, the EGU's geoscience event attracts some 12,000 scientists from across the globe.
