BRGM, which has had ISO 9001 certification since 2004 and ISO 14001 since 2012, had these two certifications renewed at the end of 2021, following an audit which did not reveal any non-conformances. This three-year renewal acknowledges BRGM's efforts to satisfy its clients and stakeholders and to control the environmental impact of its activities.
The auditors noted “an efficient management system, a scientific orientation relevant to the issues at stake, enthusiastic and dynamic managers and operational staff, and a quality and environmental management system run by competent and involved employees”.
ISO 9001 certification: guaranteed quality for our clients and partners
BRGM’s ISO 9001 quality certification has been renewed without interruption since 2004, reflecting its priority concern for the satisfaction of its clients and partners, whether in the public sector, companies or civil society. Our ISO 9001 certification covers all BRGM activities in France and abroad, as well as its regional agencies.
ISO 14001 certification: BRGM committed to environmental responsibility
The BRGM has also had ISO 14001 certification since 2012. This certification covers its Head Office in Orléans and projects in the field, confirming BRGM’s ability to build up an environmental management system that effectively minimises the environmental impacts of its sites and activities (preventing pollution, reducing consumption), as well as ensuring compliance with environmental regulations to support sustainability.
BRGM laboratories: COFRAC accreditation also renewed
BRGM’s analysis laboratories have been accredited since 1994 by the French Accreditation Committee (COFRAC), Laboratories section, according to the NF EN ISO/CEI 17025 standard (accreditation No.1-0251 - the detailed scope of accreditation is available on www.cofrac.fr/en/).
This accreditation certifies the reliability of the results produced by BRGM’s laboratories as well as their independence and impartiality, thus ensuring the comparability of analyses at European and international levels. It further acknowledges BRGM's ability to develop innovative new methods in the field of metrology.
BRGM's COFRAC accreditation was renewed at the end of 2021, for a period of 5 years. The main strengths identified by the evaluators were the professionalism and competence of its staff, the traceability of analytical data and its continuous improvement policy.
