BRGM and its subsidiary IRIS Instruments welcomed Frédérique Vidal, Minister of Research, Higher Education and Innovation, to Orléans on 17 September 2021.

Frédérique Vidal, Minister of Research, Higher Education and Innovation, honoured BRGM and its subsidiary, IRIS Instruments with a visit on the morning of Friday 17 September 2021, during her trip to Orléans in the Centre-Val de Loire region to discuss the economic recovery plan and the start of the academic year.

BRGM presents its solutions for meeting the challenges of the subsurface

This visit enabled Michèle Rousseau, President and CEO of BRGM, and Christophe Poinssot, Deputy Managing Director and Scientific Director, to present the central role played by BRGM for the Priority Research Programmes and Equipment (PEPR) submitted for inclusion in the recovery plan.

They were also able to discuss with the Minister the solutions developed by BRGM in response to the challenges of the subsurface faced with the ecological transition, the energy transition and climate change.

The visit continued at the premises of IRIS Instruments, a BRGM subsidiary, where Catherine Truffert (CEO of IRIS) presented the aid provided by the recovery plan for development with CEA/IRFU of the muon tomography imaging telescope.

In an interview, the Minister stated that “BRGM and IRIS Instruments are good examples of dynamic French research".
