TInnov will be back on 1 April 2021 in Clermont-Ferrand, as part of the 4th Clermont Innovation Week! This year's event will address the subject of how to reconquer degraded sites and rehabilitate local land areas, with several debates, presentations and workshops planned throughout the day. Due to the health context, this edition will be held entirely online.

TInnov Clermont-Ferrand 2021: a look back at the event

TInnov Clermont-Ferrand 2021 was attended by nearly 40 participants divided into 5 teams to develop concepts related to the rehabilitation of degraded spaces and restoring areas to a functional state.

Organised in collaboration with the Edwige consultancy and local partners (Michelin, Antea Group and the Clermont-Métropole Urban Planning and Development Agency), this co-creation day took place entirely online.

The teams of members from different backgrounds (experts, local authorities, companies, competitiveness clusters, etc.) focused their creative efforts on the following topics:

  • “Creating a tailor-made environment” for the Nautilus team;
  • “100% cost-effective recycling” for the Atlantis and Odyssey teams;
  • “ecosystem services in action” for the Crusoe team;
  • “Natural indication: new opportunities” for the Swiss Family Robinson team.

At the end of the day, each team presented the fruits of their conceptual work in the form of 3-minute pitches. The favourite among participants was an interactive application in the form of a game with “challenges” called “Bioindic&GO”, conceived by the Swiss Family Robinson team.

What future for the concepts?

The purpose of the next phase is to turn the concepts into innovative projects. Feasibility and development prospects will be studied for all the innovative concepts that emerged during the TInnov day. A maturation study will then be carried out on one or two of the concepts in collaboration with the stakeholders in the event.

See you on 6 October 2021 for the 4th edition of TInnov!

TInnov, creating the geosciences of tomorrow

TInnov is a creative workshop that brings together around 40 participants to come up with ideas for products and services that can be developed through dynamic partnerships.

You are once again invited to contribute your input to a multi-disciplinary team – made up of representatives of SMEs, major industrial groups, start-ups, local and regional authorities, and research organisations – in order to develop ideas that will transform the geosciences!

As in 2020, this year's event will take into account the ongoing health situation and will take place in digital form.

During the TInnov Innovation Day, all the participants will first introduce themselves and present their respective fields of interest and then take part in creative workshops to co-construct innovative concepts with and for regional authorities and companies.

Co-organised by BRGM and the Edwige consulting firm, the event will also draw on the support of its local partners: Michelin, Antea and the Local Urban Planning Agency.

This year's event will focus the debate on rehabilitating degraded areas. While often overlooked, the potential conversion of urban wasteland could contribute significantly to achieving sustainable urban development, in a context where land and space are increasingly rare commodities. In the long term, what role will the local rehabilitation of land play in managing the spread of built-up areas, preventing health and environmental risks, and developing strategic projects in urban environments?

TInnov Clermont-Ferrand invites you to use your creativity to imagine new concepts that could boost and drive your activities.

The event provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas with potential partners and identify new areas of development!

At the end of the day, the best concepts will be explored in teams during workshops organised with BRGM and its partners, who are specialised in the user needs concerned.
