The Geological Society of Africa (GSAf) is organising the 28th edition of the Colloquium of African Geology.

Its main objectives are to:

  • promote an understanding of earth sciences and improve the level of education and research in earth sciences  in Africa,
  • provide a forum to discuss and disseminate information across national boundaries between the scientists, associations and institutions involved in African geology and land-based resources,
  • promote the development and sustainable management of the continent's land-based resources in order to further its socio-economic development,
  • improve natural hazard assessment and disaster mitigation.
