About FEET 2022
This three-day cross-cutting forum brings together all the players involved in deploying a low-carbon circular economy (regional and local entities, manufacturers, start-ups, academics, students, etc.).
The forum will include plenary conferences, workshops, challenges, networking, serious games, student hackathons and other events. The aim is to maximise contacts and discussions between the 400 people expected to attend.
Furthering the energy transition by controlling the materials cycle
According to the latest report by the International Energy Agency (Outlook 2020), we will need to see a 40-fold increase in electric mobility, a 6.5-fold increase in wind power and a 12-fold increase in solar power by 2040 in order to comply with the terms of the Paris Climate Agreement.
While this transition will sharply reduce fossil fuel consumption, it will create a significant need for the strategic raw materials required to implement an energy mix combining nuclear power and renewable energy sources.
Providing a sustainable response to these needs will demand the deployment of all the pillars in the circular economy through: a stronger sustainable supply chain, improvements in the ecodesign of energy systems, updated business models, greater industrial symbiosis, the emergence of a local recycling industry and planning for the jobs of tomorrow, etc.
