BRGM: the French Geological Survey, has been among the pioneers in geothermal energy for almost 50 years, and its work continues to bear fruit today.

A pioneer having participated in the first district heating networks in Ile-de-France, where geothermal energy has enjoyed renewed interest over the past ten years. A pioneer in developing geothermal power generation in Guadeloupe and in leading the exploration to take advantage of the Caribbean's volcanic environment. A pioneer too in Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) technology, enabling deep geothermal energy to be considered regardless of the geological context. The adventure started in Soultz-sous-Forêts and is now continuing, notably for an industrial project just 10 km away.

1 million tonnes of CO2 saved in France every year

Renewable, available 24 hours a day and applicable anywhere across the territory, geothermal energy is a basic energy contributing to energy transition and climate change mitigation. France saves 1 million tons of CO2 every year thanks to this local and clean energy.
