Strengthen an integrative research and training approach to meet international societal and economic challenges

The University of Orléans plans to build two thematic clusters:

  • one in science and technology augmented by data sciences,
  • the other in sports science, rehabilitation and physical activity.

With modular and interdisciplinary programmes at under-graduate and graduate levels, its ambition is to develop a new model for a stepped programme of excellence, reconciling regional roots and internationalisation, to favour the emergence of a generation of scientists capable of innovation.

BRGM is a partner in the MINERVE project with other regional entities: the University of Tours, the Insa Centre-Val de Loire, the CNRS, Inrae and the CHRO. As a stakeholder in the project through its participation in the governance, BRGM, the French geological survey, will contribute above all to teaching and research supervision at master's and doctoral levels, with in particular the creation of a master's degree with a dual qualification in “geosciences" and “data sciences”.

Under the PIA4, the project has been awarded a grant of €13.8 million spread over ten years.
