Leaching of metallic minerals through bacterial activity

Improvements in our understanding of biogeochemical processes, and how to control them, have opened up very promising possibilities in the fields of waste treatment, metal extraction, the circular economy, geological storage and the rehabilitation of polluted sites and soils. This can provide innovative responses to the major challenges of sustainable development. 

For several years, BRGM has been actively conducting research and drawing on its capacity to innovate in order to respond to the scientific, technical and methodological challenges linked to these new issues.
