In October 2023, the collaboration between BRGM and the Defence infrastructure department was renewed for 5 years.

The Defence infrastructure department is the Ministry of Defence's specialised infrastructure and energy unit.

Increasing the resilience of France's armed forces to climate change

First signed in 2017, the agreement with BRGM structures the scientific cooperation between the two organisations in terms of research and development to achieve several objectives:

  • improving unexploded ordinance diagnostics,
  • managing and recovering used sand from firing ranges,
  • increasing the resilience of infrastructures to climate change.

BRGM is thus contributing its expertise to boost the resilience of the French armed forces.
