Owned by TRACE (54%) and BRGM Invest (46%), Lyncée Traçabilité is a joint venture whose launch follows more than two years of collaboration between the TRACE group and BRGM on the traceability of mineral substances.
It was set up to provide a new type of service: a reliable method allowing manufacturers to verify the source and integrity of their supplies of strategic materials such as lithium, gold, copper, titanium and mica.
Closer collaboration
This joint‑venture extends the partnership set up in 2023 between two players with complementary expertise: BRGM, a specialist in the scientific geochemical fingerprint of mineral resources, and TRACE, an expert in the traceability of the digital chain. With Lyncée Traçabilité, the two entities are pooling their expertise, accelerating their collaboration and scaling up to industrial level.
A new service meeting a new need
Faced with mounting pressure and increasingly stringent ethical and environmental requirements, mining and processing firms need to be able to prove that the supply chain serving a range of industries – aerospace, automotive, luxury goods and cosmetics – is both responsible and sustainable. Lyncée Traçabilité provides this guarantee, from the source through to the finished product.

A comprehensive service offering
The service provided by Lyncée Tracabilité is based on an innovative idea for mineral resources. It is supported by a hybrid approach combining:
- Advanced geochemical analyses, including isotopes, to establish the fingerprint of each material,
- The deployment of blockchain notarisation to record each stage in the process as part of an immutable, confidential and secure approach,
- Artificial intelligence.
Lyncée Traçabilité serves a range of industries – automotive, aerospace, cosmetics and luxury goods –as well as mining firms, where its services run from processing and recycling to the associated investment projects. The company is able to provide:
- Advice on investments and the responsible sourcing of mineral resources,
- Advice on traceability and operational deployment,
- Documentary traceability,
- Physico‑chemical and isotopic analyses for traceability,
- Integrated traceability and guarantee of origin.
The first deployments are scheduled for the first half of 2026 with key players in the automotive and cosmetics industries.
A name with its roots in mythology
In Greek mythology, Lyncée – Lynceus in English – was one of Jason's companions in the quest for the Golden Fleece. His razor-sharp vision could pierce the earth itself. The name is a nod to the ambition of the new entity: to make the invisible visible and reveal the true source of materials.
