As part of the visit to Ukraine in early February 2026 by a delegation of around fifteen French companies and members of parliament led by Nicolas Forissier, the French Minister for Foreign Trade and Promotion, BRGM signed a scientific partnership agreement with the Ukrainian Geological Survey (UGS).
The aim of the cooperation agreement is to increase knowledge of Ukraine's mineral potential and attract investors through joint research and analysis of geological data.
Supporting the Ukrainian economy and laying the groundwork for reconstruction
The partnership signed by BRGM and UGS follows on from the intergovernmental agreement signed between France and Ukraine in Paris on 17 November 2025.
The aim of this agreement is to deepen economic, industrial and financial cooperation between the two countries, to boost resilience and support the reconstruction of the Ukrainian economy. It covers a number of strategic sectors, including the development of underground resources, water resource management, natural disasters and pyrotechnic pollution control.
