A complement to the geological map of France for a better understanding of our geological history
Complex, detailed, but also concise, this geological map of France is a scientific feat in itself. Even if you already know something about the geological history of France, this book provides valuable information that may not otherwise be immediately clear, helping you develop a far clearer understanding.
The book extracts key data from the map to show the sequence of events that left their mark on France and its immediate neighbours. You will be able to reconstruct the outlines of ancient massifs, large sedimentary basins, volcanic eruptions and recent mountain ranges, not forgetting the rocks found on continental margins and plateaux.
An essential complement to a full understanding of the rocks and structures of France, this book tells the story of the rich geological history of this beautiful country.
