Drawing and exploring geology
The aim of the BRGM field notebook is to help budding geologists discover landscapes, rocks, minerals and fossils. This is an actual tool for raising awareness and answering the questions that youngsters ask about their environment; it contains information on how to observe elements of geological interest, and many pages to give free rein to their aptitude to observe.
By describing and drawing shapes, colours and textures, children learn a different way of looking at the world around them. Easy to slip into a bag during an outing, the notebook enables children to observe everything, from a forest seen in the distance to a pebble found in the garden.
