Earthquakes, ground movements, cyclones, floods, and other types of risk all represent a threat to local populations, as well as to their resources and infrastructures.
Earth sciences are key to managing these issues, whether for characterising the different phenomena and their evolution over time, or for assessing, preventing and remedying the impacts.
