BRGM advanced on all fronts last year, from groundwater management to mineral resource exploration, from clay swelling/shrinkage to the treatment of PFASs, from post-mining safety work to the mapping of European coastal subsidence, from geological storage of CO2 to geothermal energy and from the beginnings of the integrative digital platform to the use of artificial intelligence.
You can read all about it in our 2024 Annual Report. This document highlights some of the major projects being carried out by our institution and shares the experience of several of our partners. It also presents the annual accounts of BRGM and its subsidiaries.
Buoyed by the central role of the subsurface in today's environmental, energy and sovereignty issues, our business has continued to grow (+25% in two years!) and our results are once again positive.
A new organisation aligned with our revised scientific strategy
In 2024 we also revised our scientific strategy to keep up with major socio-economic developments and the need to accelerate the ecological transition and adapt to climate change. This update of our ten-year strategy has been accompanied by internal reorganisation to make our actions clearer and more effective.
As the French geological survey, BRGM leads the way in meeting the challenging potential of the subsurface, both in France and abroad, with and for public authorities, their partners and civil society.
