The TInnov challenge
TInnov is BRGM's annual open innovation event, where creativity and collaboration take centre stage.
Like a collective marathon, participants with a wide range of backgrounds have 36 hours to come up with solutions to the subsurface challenges of the energy transition.
The 8th edition, in partnership with ITM and the University of Munich, will bring groups together on the basis of student participation.
BRGM experts and their industrial and innovation partners work with them to jointly design solutions to the new subsurface energy challenges.
This intensive day will be punctuated by brainstorming workshops and pitches to boost inspiration for the development of future geological solutions.
The topic
The subsurface and new energy challenges
As the energy transition gathers pace, the subsurface is emerging as an area of opportunity for sustainable, high-performance solutions.
TInnov is an invitation to explore and jointly design new approaches to optimising the emerging uses of the subsurface and its energy potential.
From native hydrogen to storage solutions, geothermal energy and the optimisation of energy systems, each identified challenge opens the way to decisive advances.
How can we make the hydrogen sector more efficient and resilient? How can the subsurface be transformed into a key energy storage and management factor? What new synergies can be created between the surface and subsurface to meet the growing needs of urban and industrial areas?
Students, companies, researchers and engineers are pooling their expertise to devise solutions to the new energy challenges from under the ground.
