French mining renewal: exploration and development of dormant and hidden deposits

The Mines en France 2026 day, organised by the Société de l'Industrie Minérale (SIM) in partnership with Pôle Avenia, will take place in Pau on 15 June and will be followed on 16 and 17 June by the GEODAYS organised by the Avenia cluster.

The event will provide an opportunity to discuss French mining renewal and exploration technology.

This theme will cover the national inventory currently underway, an advanced mining project at Beauvoir and major exploration work in the Limousin region. The day will also look at a number of mining exploration technologies currently in use that enrich, strengthen and structure the data so that it can be better interpreted and drilling locations determined more accurately.

Experts in the various fields of the mineral industry will be on hand to exchange ideas and take part in conferences and round table discussions.

BRGM present at the event

BRGM, the French geological survey, will be taking part in the Mines en France day as part of its mission to help shape French mining policy. Anne-Sophie Serrand, deputy director of the Mineral Resources Inventory at BRGM will be speaking at a conference dedicated to "New investigations of the French subsurface in support of mining renewal" at 9.00 am.
