Outreach events across France to share the geological diversity of our regions
The aim of the national geology days, organised by the French Geological Society (SGF - Société Géologique de France) with support from BRGM, is to encourage as many people as possible to discover the beauty and history of our landscapes and the riches of our planet Earth.
From 5 to 7 June 2026, geoscientists across France will be organising events to showcase the geodiversity of our landscapes, our coastlines and even our towns, and to raise public awareness of geological phenomena, protect our heritage and make the most of our subsurface resources.
These events can take a variety of forms: field trips/excursions, geological walks to find out about the stone used in the buildings of towns, lectures, film screenings, exhibitions, special openings of museums or quarries, etc.
