The 74th Congress of the French Mineral Industries Society (SIM) will take place from 15 to 17 October 2025 in Orléans, France.
The French Mineral Industries Society (Société de l'Industrie Minérale - SIM) congress and exhibition is the leading trade fair for the extractive-industry sector in France. It showcases the products and expertise of the sector's various equipment manufacturers and service providers.
Sustainable resources for a responsible industry
In 2025, the SIM is celebrating its 170th anniversary and hosting its 74th congress and exhibition in Orléans, at the magnificent CO'Met site with its exhibition centre and conference venue.
Famed for its rich historical heritage, Orléans sits at the heart of the Loire Valley, a Unesco World Heritage site, on the edge of the Forest of Orléans, the wooded Sologne and the plains of the Beauce. From a scientific standpoint, Orléans is also known as the home of earth sciences since BRGM, the national geological survey, has its headquarters and technical centre on the La Source campus, next to the university complex.
The theme of the conference is sustainable resources for a responsible industry. It will look at the mineral industry from a number of angles, from the production of primary and secondary resources to their uses in a range of fields, including established local industries: ceramics, glass, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and construction. The conference will also address key associated issues such as product recycling and recovery, biodiversity protection, energy, and the training of industry players.
The Centre-Val de Loire branch of the SIM will be delighted to welcome you and to support a range of events including technical tours, workshops, an exhibition and thematic forums.
Everything is ready to make this congress once again the main event for the mineral industry in France.
