Nevertheless, the most attractive target is without a doubt work on the resource. The diversity of geological environments involved, particularly in the developing countries, provides major potential for this type of activity. With studies ranging from potential assessment to exploration, BRGM's contribution is valid at any phase and corresponds to the types of work required both for systemizing the recourse to geothermal heat and for developing the resource and its use.
By participating actively in the program ”Geothermal Implementing Agreement" developed by the International Agency Energy, the BRGM exchanges and builds with other partners an international cooperation for the geothermal energy research and development.
Because commercial projects are often linked to achieving a precise project target, the bid must include both the project feasibility and its engineering. In this context, BRGM can take advantage of the complementarity and synergy with its subsidiary, CFG Services, specialized in geothermal engineering. |
