DEVELOPMENT OF THE GEOTHERMAL RESOURCE
Direct production of heat and cogeneration

CAMELIA
: Concerted Action Multigeneration Energy systems with Locally Integrated Applications (2005-2007)

This concerted approach aims at drawing up a general inventory and analysis of the different types of cogeneration (production of electricity associated with a production of heat or cold) to ensure the provision of building energy requirements from several renewable energies. BRGM is responsible for compiling a synthesis of technological advances in the geothermal sector and their recognition in district heating networks.

15 partners: of which for France : CNAM (coordinator), CEA, BRGM, CIAT.

GTR-H : GeoThermal Regulation-Heat (2007-2008)

From an analysis of current regulations applied to the geothermal sector in European Union countries, an administrative and statutory framework will be proposed at the European level taking into account national specificities from the environmental, energy and financial standpoints.

8 partners: CSA coordinator

CTIFL - Reversible Greenhouse Airconditioning (2006-2007)

CTIFL (Centre Technique Interprofessionnel des Fruits et Légumes: Interprofessional Fruit and Vegetable Technical Centre ) wishes to develop the "sustainable greenhouse" concept by promoting greenhouse airconditioning using very low enthalpy geothermal energy (shallow groundwater). The prefeasibility study made by BRGM considered the technical aspects (capacity of the groundwater, heat balance in the shallow aquifer, impact), as well as the regulations and economics relative to the hydrogeological aspects.

CLASTIQ : CLAyed SandsTone In Question (2006-2007)

The project aims to estimate the geothermal potential of the clayey-sandstone reservoirs of the Paris Basin and of a few key sectors in mainland France . It will review the configurations of geothermal operations carried out on the same type of reservoirs in Europe and also consider the re-injection problems.
